FAQ:

  • Do I need one subdomain for my blog and one for my landing pages?  No.  You can easily use the same subdomain for both – we recommend something generic like “web.yoursite.com” or “info.yoursite.com.”
  • What if I want a subdomain for my blog and a different one for my landing pages?  While it’s not necessary to do this, it’s possible.  Complete steps 1 – 5 for the each subdomain name you want to create.  You’ll still have to pick a primary domain in step 6.  For this we recommend picking the more generic of your subdomain names.  By assigning the primary domain you’ll cause your other subdomains to 301 redirect to the primary subdomain; this allows you to have links with unique subdomains for your blog and landing pages but solves the problem of duplicate content for the search engines.  If you have any questions about how it works you can contact HubSpot Support.

Take Your HubSpot-Hosted Pages Live with a Subdomain

Once your template has been skinned, it's time to take your HubSpot-hosted pages live! "Going live" means that website visitors will be able to see your blog, landing pages, and Thank You pages.

It's very important to get your new pages live as soon as possible! If you don't take your HubSpot website live:

  • You CANNOT start collecting leads through your HubSpot landing pages
  • You CANNOT seamlessly link your new blog with your main website

If you need assistance with this process, we're here to help. Please call our Support team at 1-888-HUBSPOT extension 3.

Here's how to take your blog and landing pages live in a few simple steps:

1. Go to your HubSpot Settings

Log in to HubSpot, and click Settings on the top-right corner of your screen.

3. Add Your Subdomain

Your subdomain is where your site visitors will be able to find your HubSpot-hosted content, which may include a blog, landing pages, and thank you pages. A few common choices include:

  • info.mysite.com
  • web.mysite.com
  • blog.mysite.com

Once you decide what you'd like your subdomain to be, enter this subdomain in the Step #1 text field and click Connect.

4. Edit Settings on your Domain Registrar (wherever you purchased your domain name)

You will then see a layover with instructions appear. Copy or write down the CNAME Record that appears in this layover. Then click the link "instructions for updating a CNAME record." HubSpot automatically detects where you purchased your domain name, so this link leads to the instructions you will need to follow on your domain name registrar, such as GoDaddy or Network Solutions.
